"We always find as we investigate the universe -- make the microscope bigger and bigger and we will find ever more minute things; make the telescope bigger and bigger and bigger and the universe expands because it's running away from itself. It won't do that if you don't chase it!"


"Chase the Universe" is a collaborative EP by Romo (LA) and SincJack (DC). The format of the album features alternating instrumental tracks from the aforementioned producers, working together to tell a story with the help of samples from a lecture ("Chasing Yourself") given by philosopher, Alan Watts. Although this album contains spiritual and philosophical themes (e.g., the interconnectedness of things, perspective and interpretation/hermeneutics, the ephemerality of life), it offers no message in particular; that is something for the listener to decide. To chase, or not to chase, that is the question...

Born and raised in DC, Will Jackson began producing music independently in early 2008. He has been heavily influenced by a wide variety of music and artists including, but not limited to, Boards of Canada, IDM, Electronica, House, and Hip Hop, and his main goal is to convey various moods and tones to the listener through off-kilter melodies and harmonies. In recent months he has opened for acts such as Washed Out, CEDAA, Riff Raff, K-Flay, Massacooramaan, Sister Crayon, DJ Sober, A.Dd+, and Das Racist, among others.
